Slurry project a ‘significant milestone’, says minister
Last week BH Estates took delivery of a SMS6 mobile separator from Slootsmid in Holland, and were pleased to be visited by Andrew Muir, Minister of Agriculture.
The minister announced the awarding of funding for the sustainable use of livestock slurries programme funding – moments after the separator was unloaded and we had the wheels back on.
Over the winter and beyond we will expand our mobile separation and work with neighbours and across Northern Ireland to demonstrate how this solution can improve slurry management for farmers, and also remove nutrients where farmers want them to be removed, and in an economically viable way.
The separator will be at the Danske Bank UK Royal Ulster Agricultural Society Winter Fair in December opposite the Genesis Agri stand, who have played a big part in the supply.
