Have you seen? – The Soil Nutrient Health Scheme

Published: July 25, 2022

The Soil Nutrient Health Scheme was launched by DAERA April 2022 in Northern Ireland.

The deadline for the scheme is now extended from July 8th to August 31st 2022 for farmers in Zone 1.

The scheme is open to farmers who wish for their fields to be soil tested under the scheme. DAERA will take 4 years to sample 4 zones of Northern Ireland, and they are aiming to test over 75,000 fields by the end of the project. The testing will provide information on nutrient levels and carbon stocks. It is a prerequisite to register for the scheme if a farmer wishes to avail of a subsidy under Farming For Nature (a future stream of agricultural subsidies in Northern Ireland).

We are advising all clients in zone 1- All of Co. Down, most of Armagh and a little of South Antrim – to register for this scheme by the closing dates of August 31st.

Ring us on +44 (0)28 9048 0285 to discuss.
